Here is how to enable inline editing in salesforce

  1. First click on the settings icon in the top right corner of the header
  2. Then click on "Setup" option in the dropdown menu
  3. Click on "Feature Settings" in the left sidebar menu
  4. Select "Analytics" under Feature Settings in the sidebar
  5. Click on "Reports & Dashboards" option in the expanded Analytics menu
  6. Select "Reports and Dashboards Settings" in the expanded menu
  7. Make sure to turn on the "Enable Inline Editing in Reports" checkbox in the User Interface section
  8. Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the settings page
  9. Click on "Reports" in the top navigation menu
  10. Open any one of the reports
  11. Click on "Enable Field Editing" button in the report toolbar
  12. You will now see an edit sign next to your fields
  13. You can now make quick edits directly from the report
