Here is how to copy an existing project in your github organization

  1. First click on your profile picture in the top-right corner of the header
  2. Next click on "Organizations" in the dropdown menu
  3. Click on the "Settings" button next to the organization
  4. Then click on the "Projects" tab in the organization's navigation bar
  5. Locate the project you want to copy
  6. Next click on the three dots icon next to it
  7. Select "Make a copy" from the context menu
  8. Alternatively, click directly on the project you want to copy
  9. After that, click on the three dots icon in the top right of the project view
  10. Next select "Make a copy" from the dropdown menu
  11. Optionally, if you want all draft issues to be copied with the project select "Draft issues will be copied if selected"
  12. Under "Owner", select either the organization that will own the new project or your personal account
  13. Finally, click on the "Copy project" button
