Here is how to create a task from a task comment in clickup
- From the comment section of an open task. You can create a task from your unsent comment or anyone's sent comment
- From your unsent comment, click on the "New Task" button in the comment formatting toolbar
- Then, in the task creation dialog, begin creating the new task
- You can highlight part of the text
- In the text toolbar, click the dropdown to the right of "+ Task"
- Next "Task" from the dropdown menu to instantly convert it into a task
- From a sent comment, hover over the sent comment you want to convert into a task
- Next click the ellipsis (...) in the upper-right corner of the comment
- Then select "Create Task" from the dropdown menu
- Enter the task name in the input field of the task creation form
- To select a new location, click the current location name
- Select your desired location from the list of available options (Space, Folder, or List) if needed
- Next, add additional details such as assignee, priority, and due date
- Finally, click on the "Create Task" button to create the new task
- In the confirmation dialog, click on "Post Task" button to post task to thread if needed
