Here is how to create a task from a task comment in clickup

  1. From the comment section of an open task. You can create a task from your unsent comment or anyone's sent comment
  2. From your unsent comment, click on the "New Task" button in the comment formatting toolbar
  3. Then, in the task creation dialog, begin creating the new task
  4. You can highlight part of the text
  5. In the text toolbar, click the dropdown to the right of "+ Task"
  6. Next "Task" from the dropdown menu to instantly convert it into a task
  7. From a sent comment, hover over the sent comment you want to convert into a task
  8. Next click the ellipsis (...) in the upper-right corner of the comment
  9. Then select "Create Task" from the dropdown menu
  10. Enter the task name in the input field of the task creation form
  11. To select a new location, click the current location name
  12. Select your desired location from the list of available options (Space, Folder, or List) if needed
  13. Next, add additional details such as assignee, priority, and due date
  14. Finally, click on the "Create Task" button to create the new task
  15. In the confirmation dialog, click on "Post Task" button to post task to thread if needed
