Here is how to edit a readme file in github
- First open the repository that contains the README file
- Next click on the "Edit file" button in the repository toolbar
- Then modify the content of the README in the editor
- Click on the "Commit changes..." button in the top right corner
- In the commit dialog, enter a commit message if needed
- Finally click on the "Commit changes" button at the bottom of the commit dialog
