Here is how to delete an issue type in your github organization

  1. First click on your profile picture in the top-right corner of the header
  2. Next click on "Organizations" in the dropdown menu
  3. Click on the "Settings" button next to the organization you want to manage
  4. Click on the "Planning" in the left sidebar under "Code, planning, and automation" section
  5. After that, click on "Issue types" in the Planning submenu
  6. Locate the issue type you want to delete in the list
  7. Next click on the options menu (three dots) next to it
  8. From the dropdown menu, click on "Delete" option
  9. Then type the issue type's name in the confirmation text field
  10. Finally click on "Delete" button to confirm the deletion
